Updated Ethereum Deployment Funding

We're updating how Ethereum NFT operations are funded in the NFT-API v3.
From now on, contract deployments on Ethereum requires a funded company wallet.
Previously, Venly sponsored contract deployment costs automatically. Going forward, you will need to fund your Ethereum company wallet with at least 0.02 ETH before deploying a contract. This ensures you have enough funds not only for the contract deployment but also to cover minting operations right after. Learn more below.

What's New

  • On Ethereum, NFT contract deployments now requires funding from your Ethereum company wallet.
  • Venly will no longer sponsor contract deployment costs for Ethereum.
  • Venly provides a Create Company Wallet endpoint so you can create and fund your Ethereum company wallet before attempting a deployment.
  • We recommend funding your Ethereum company wallet with at least 0.02 ETH to cover contract deployment and subsequent minting operations.
  • Learn how to retrieve your company wallet details if you already have one.

Recommended Workflow

  1. Create Ethereum company wallet → Use the Create Company Wallet endpoint
  2. Fund wallet → Add at least 0.02 ETH to cover contract deployment and minting costs
  3. Deploy contract → Contract deployments succeed

Scenarios

  • No Ethereum company wallet yet → Create one first using the Create Company Wallet endpoint, then fund it before deploying a contract.
  • Ethereum company wallet exists but is unfunded → Contract deployment will fail until you fund and retry.
  • Ethereum company wallet is funded with at least 0.02 ETH → Operations succeed as expected.

For other chains

  • Venly still automatically creates and funds the company wallets.
  • Deployments work without requiring manual funding.
